ODM leader Raila Odinga on Thursday met with key Cabinet members and the party’s parliamentary leadership to discuss pressing national and emerging issues. While he did not disclose specific details of the meeting, Raila emphasized the need for unity and national progress.
The high-profile discussions brought together Mining and Blue Economy CS Hassan Joho, MSMEs CS Wycliffe Oparanya, Energy CS Opiyo Wandayi, EAC and ASAL CS Beatrice Askul, Treasury CS John Mbadi, Kilifi Senator Stewart Madzayo, and National Assembly Minority Leader Junet Mohamed.
Raila also reaffirmed his commitment to working with the government, rejecting calls to join the opposition. Defending his stance, he stressed that Kenya is bigger than any one individual and that national stability must take precedence.
“There are still challenges, including ensuring free and fair elections, but we must all make sacrifices. The country must move forward, and that is why we are calling for unity,” Raila stated.
His remarks come after a recent pact between him and President William Ruto, aimed at jointly addressing the country’s pressing issues.
