ODM leader Raila Odinga has dismissed invitations from certain politicians urging him to rejoin the opposition, reaffirming his commitment to working with the government.
Addressing his supporters, Raila made it clear that he is steadfast in the path he has chosen. “We are fully aware of the decision we made and where we are headed,” he stated.
The former Prime Minister questioned the sincerity of those now inviting him to their camp, noting that the same individuals had previously criticized and labeled him as a “hyena.”
Raila emphasized that Kenya has overcome many political and economic challenges, and now, more than ever, leaders must unite to prevent the country from regressing. He defended his position, stating that national unity is more important than individual interests.
“Our country is bigger than any one person, and we must defend it,” he declared.
While acknowledging that the country still faces major challenges, including electoral reforms, Raila expressed confidence that these issues would be resolved over time.
“Before we get there, we must all make sacrifices. Where we are is not where we wanted to be, but the country must move forward. That is why we are calling for unity,” he added.
His remarks come amid calls by some leaders, including former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, urging him to join their political camp.

Raila and President William Ruto recently signed a pact to collaborate on finding solutions to the nation’s pressing issues, further solidifying his position within the government.
