Actor and musician Rotimi has opened up about his wife Vanessa Mdee’s quiet but firm decision to walk away from the music industry a move he says was rooted in her refusal to compromise her values in the face of unsettling pressures.

Speaking in a recent interview, the Nigerian-American entertainer revealed that Vanessa was repeatedly pushed toward disturbing practices as she rose through the ranks of the industry.

“She was encouraged to embrace witchcraft to reach the next level,” Rotimi said. “She didn’t sacrifice herself or sell her soul. She chose to walk away instead.”

The Tanzanian star shocked many fans when she stepped away from the spotlight at the peak of her music career. Rotimi now says that decision was more than personal it was spiritual.

“These things are real. People are using them,” he added. “She was told, ‘This is what we do, this is how it’s done,’” referencing the occult demands that allegedly followed her success.

While Mdee has since pivoted toward family and faith, her experience offers a rare glimpse into the high-stakes world of fame, where some promises of success come with costs that go far beyond contracts and endorsements.
