Kenya’s healthcare sector is set for a major boost following a Ksh.1.8 billion (RMB 100 million) grant from China, aimed at improving medical infrastructure and services in key hospitals across the country.

The agreement was formalized in Nairobi, where Treasury Cabinet Secretary John Mbadi signed the deal alongside Chinese Ambassador to Kenya, Guo Haiyan. The funds will support critical healthcare facilities, including Londiani Referral Hospital in Kericho County, Baringo County Referral Hospital, Kilifi Hospital, and Misikhu Hospital in Bungoma.
