Basic Education Principal Secretary Julius Bitok has confirmed that Grade 10 placement letters will be issued before Christmas, providing clarity for students transitioning to senior schools.

Speaking in Kikuyu on Monday, November 17, Bitok said the Ministry of Education will begin processing placements one week after the Kenya Junior School Education Assessment (KJSEA) results are released. The 2025 KJSEA exams were conducted from October 27 to November 3, with results scheduled for release by December 11.

“The results are expected by December 11, and we will start the placement process immediately so that learners can proceed to senior schools without delay,” the PS said.

Bitok added that approximately 1.1 million students are expected to report to their respective schools on January 12, 2026. “We have issued clear guidelines to manage the entire process from start to finish, ensuring there is no confusion,” he noted.

The PS emphasized that the government has put in place a robust plan to guarantee a smooth transition for learners advancing to senior school.
