Interior and National Administration CS Kipchumba Murkomen is in Elgeyo Marakwet County for his 20th Jukwaa la Usalama grassroots engagement.
Ahead of a town hall meeting at Tambach TTC, the CS assessed the construction of Kamariny Stadium, which has resumed after stalling for quite some time.
“I am confident that the new contractor on site has the capacity to complete the stadium on time and to the required standards,” he said.
The 10,000-seater facility, which will be completed in one year, will host ball sports and athletics. Hostels for athletes in camp will be added in phase 2 of the construction.
He is accompanied by Elgeyo Marakwet Governor Wisley Rotich, Deputy Inspector General of Police – APS Gilbert Masengeli, MPs Adams Kipsanai (Keiyo North), Timothy Toroitich ( Marakwet West) and Caroline Ngelechei (Woman Rep), Rift Valley Regional Commissioner Dr Abdi Hassan, Elgeyo Marakwet County Assembly Speaker Lawi Kibire and a host of MCAs.
