Kenya Police Bullets are stepping into the CECAFA Women’s Champions League Qualifiers with one clear mission: redemption.
After last year’s heartbreak in Addis Ababa, where they narrowly lost 1-0 to Ethiopia’s Commercial Bank of Ethiopia (CBE) in the final, the FKF Women’s Premier League champions are determined to go one better this time especially with the home crowd behind them.
Their campaign begins on Thursday, September 4, at Nyayo National Stadium against Uganda’s Kampala Queens. The Bullets top Group A, which also features Eritrea’s Denden FC, while Group B brings together defending champions CBE, Top Girls Academy of Burundi, and Rwanda’s Rayon Sports WFC.
Club chairman Nyale Munga is confident the stage is set for the team to shine. He credits head coach Beldine Odemba’s rigorous preparations and believes home advantage could tilt the scales in their favour.
“The girls are ready. They’ve trained hard, they’re focused, and we believe this is our year,” Munga said, while urging fans to turn out in full voice at Nyayo Stadium and Ulinzi Complex. “We respect every opponent, but we are here to win.”
For the Bullets, this tournament is more than just football it’s about proving they belong among Africa’s elite. Last year’s near miss still lingers, but this time, on familiar turf, the team insists they won’t let the chance slip away.
