Kenya’s football pipeline has gained another promising name abroad after 19-year-old striker Sammy Henia Kamau sealed a move to English Championship side Hull City.
The youngster has signed a deal that keeps him at the club until June 30, 2026, with his first season set to unfold in Hull’s U21 team.
Kamau’s journey has already seen him bounce across Britain’s football map. He began at Swansea City’s U18s, had a brief stint with Jersey Bulls, before heading back to Swansea. This summer, Hull snapped him up on a free transfer.
Speaking after putting pen to paper, the forward laid out his ambitions in simple terms:
“I just want to kick on, play as many games as I can, score goals, provide assists, and keep improving as a player.”
Born in England to a British mother and Kenyan father, Kamau is eligible to represent Harambee Stars internationally a fact that has already sparked excitement among Kenyan fans eager to see fresh attacking talent in the national side.
Kamau gave early glimpses of his quality at Swansea, where he made his Domestic Youth Cup debut at 18 years and six months, helping his team cruise to a 6-0 victory.
Now at Hull City, he steps into the next chapter of his development, hoping to turn potential into a breakthrough.
