Officers from Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), regular police officers and officials from the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) have launched a manhunt for former Agriculture Cabinet Secretary Peter Munya.
The warrant of arrest against Mr Munya was issued by Milimani Magistrate Eunice Nyutu after DCI officers failed to produce him in court.
“I order Munya to present himself in court by 11:15 a.m. His warrant of arrest still stands,” Magistrate Nyutu ordered.
Mr Munya is a wanted to testify in an Sh68 billion Arror and Kimwarer dams’ corruption case against former Treasury CS Henry Rotich.
In March 2019, Mr Munya told the police that a top Cabinet official phoned him twice, pushing him to approve the release of Sh4 billion for the two dams.
