The Public Service Commission has announced 1,000 internship opportunities in the State Department for Basic Education under the Digital Literacy Programme.
PSC announced that interested candidates should have graduated not earlier than 2019 and should have a Bachelor’s degree in education with a specialisation in information communication technology or a Bachelor’s degree in ICT or a diploma in the same from a recognised institution.
“The candidate must be willing to be deployed to any Sub County Education office within the country on a full-time basis,” PSC said.
Those interested have been urged to apply through the commission’s portal accessible through the Public www.publicservice.go.ie or www.psckjobs.go.ke on or before September 25, 2023.
The internship will run for 12 months and interns will be paid by the State Department for Basic Education at a rate as determined by the Government Certificate.
Successful applicants will be required to assist teachers by integrating ICT in the delivery of teaching, learning and assessment, supporting school staff with the development and production of key school policies and procedures.
They will also be expected to support the implementation of the digital learning programme.
“They will also provide class support and training of primary school teachers in the use of digital literacy devices and provide support in the safe, secure and ethical use of technology in learning as well as first-line support and maintenance of ICT services in the schools,” PSC added.
