Former Jubilee Secretary-General Raphael Tuju has ruled out any possibility of taking up a government job under President William Ruto, saying he is content with his current life outside politics.
In an interview with TV47, Tuju explained that he is focused on managing his private businesses and enjoying the freedom that comes with being away from political office. He said that unlike in the past, he now has the liberty to express his views without worrying about aligning with either the government or the opposition.
“I am very happy where I am at the moment. I enjoy a private life, I do things that I like, and I can speak freely without caring what the government or the opposition thinks,” Tuju said.
He emphasized that he was not seeking employment, noting that he already runs enterprises that provide livelihoods to many people. “I don’t want a job, I don’t need a job. I have over a hundred employees, and it would be very difficult to pay someone like me. I create jobs, I am not looking for one so that I can get positions to make deals,” he remarked.
On whether he would consider returning to Jubilee Party leadership if invited, Tuju dismissed the idea, stressing that Kenya’s future is bigger than partisan politics. He maintained that his focus remains on his personal ventures and contributing to national discourse from outside the political fold.
