29 passengers were left stranded in the middle of the road on Sunday after the driver and his conductor abandoned the bus they were travelling in and disappeared into the night.
The bus was said to be travelling from Busia to Nairobi, but after reaching Sitotwet area along the Kisumu-Kericho road at around 2am, the driver stopped and fled with the conductor following suit.
Belgut Sub-county Police Commander Charles Kibati confirmed the incident, adding that the matter was reported at Ainamoi Police Station at 7am by one of the passengers.
The 29 passengers gave their statements at Sosiot Police Station and had to find another means to continue their journey to Nairobi.
