A major drug trafficking operation was disrupted after Anti-Narcotics Unit (ANU) officers intercepted a vehicle carrying a massive 450 kilograms of cannabis sativa, estimated to be worth Ksh 13.5 million.

Acting swiftly on intelligence, detectives tracked down and stopped a Toyota Noah registration number KBH 226U near the Delamere shop along the busy Naivasha-Nairobi highway. Behind the wheel was Bonface Mandende Zinjenga, with his accomplice John Oloo Amolo in tow.

Upon inspection, the vehicle was found to be loaded with eight gunny bags and eleven tightly packed bales of cannabis, all cleverly concealed and seemingly destined for distribution.

Both suspects, along with the vehicle, were escorted to Naivasha Police Station for initial processing. They were later transferred to the DCI headquarters in Nairobi, where they are expected to undergo further interrogation before being arraigned in court.

This latest seizure underscores ongoing efforts by law enforcement to dismantle drug trafficking networks operating along key transport corridors.
