In a move to achieve transparency, accountability and equity and fairness in salary renumeration, the salary and renumeration committee SRC, has scrapped 6 allowances for civil servants.
Member of the National assembly as well as members of county assembly will lose their plenary allowance payable for a minimum of 4 sittings per week.
SRC had also reviewed the Daily Subsistence Allowance, where allowances for local travels have been standardized for respective grades of public servants.
Other allowances to be removed include
Retreat allowance, taskforce allowances as well as daily subsistence allowance.
