With their Premier League title hopes slipping away, Ulinzi Starlets are now channeling all their energy into defending their FKF Women’s Cup crown. Head coach Collins Ochieng has turned the team’s focus toward silverware, aiming to lead the military side to a record fourth consecutive title.
The 2025 FKF Women’s Cup draw, held in Nairobi on Tuesday, paired Ulinzi with TUK Ravens in what promises to be a thrilling opener. The competition features teams across all tiers from county clubs to Premier League giants making it a vibrant showcase of Kenyan women’s football.
A recent sponsorship deal between FKF and a local betting firm is also expected to raise the stakes, with Ksh.85,000 awarded to every team that progresses past a stage.
“Even though the league hasn’t gone our way, our ambition remains intact,” said Ochieng. “We respect TUK Ravens. These are the kinds of matches where lower-tier teams want to make a statement, and we’ll be ready.”
As the tournament kicks off, Ulinzi Starlets find themselves not just defending a title but their legacy.
