Police in Kinoo, Kiambu County, have rescued a Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS) officer who was found bound and blindfolded in the boot of a car after a dramatic early-morning operation.
According to the National Police Service (NPS), the rescue took place on October 6, 2025, after patrol officers spotted a suspicious vehicle and moved in to investigate.
As the officers approached, the vehicle’s occupants attempted to speed off, sparking a brief chase through the area. The pursuit ended with the arrest of two suspects.
Upon searching the vehicle, police were shocked to find a man tied up and blindfolded in the boot. The victim was later identified as a KWS officer who had been en route to Nairobi before being abducted.
“He reported that the assailants had stolen money from his mobile wallet and were targeting passengers along the route,” read a statement from the NPS.
Officers also recovered several stolen mobile phones believed to have been taken during earlier robberies.
The two suspects are currently in custody as investigations continue to establish the full extent of their operations and whether they are linked to other robberies reported in the area.
